​Surfside Historical Trail Signs

Installed 2023
Since the research done for this website revealed many interesting episodes of Velasco's history, a project was proposed in late 2021 to create some colorful interpretive signs to be be placed along the walking trail which begins at 600 Parkview Road in Surfside.  A first batch of 6 signs was approved by the city council of Surfside Beach, and were ordered in Apr-2023, as a sort-of "pilot project".  Please come visit Surfside Beach, see these signs, and stand on the very spot where these events happened.
